Korth ====================================================================== MARY DODSON Mary Jones, daughter of Walker and Martha Jones, was born in Henry County, Missouri, on February 24, 1867, and on November 30, 1882, was united in marriage to W.R. Dodson at Lewis, Missouri, and from there moved to Otoe County, Nebraska, where they lived until 1887, when they moved to Union, Cass County Nebraska and from there came to Magnet in 1904, where they have since resided. Mrs. Dodson was of a cheerful sunny disposition and always one of the first to help and comfort another in their hour of trouble, a devoted mother and wife, a good neighbor and friend whose place in the community can never be filled. Mrs. Dodson passed away at her home in Magnet at 10:30 Saturday evening, August 31, 1918, after an illness of several months from cancer. Through her long illness, Mrs. Dodson was ever patient and never complained of her suffering. She leaves besides her husband to mourn her loss, five daughters and three sons; Mrs. Arthur Marsh near McLean, Mrs. Forrest Surface of Silver Creek, Mrs. M.R. Martin of Wausa, Elma and Alma Dodson at home, Wilbur Dodson in the U.S. Army, who arrived at home Tuesday night from Waco, Texas and was called for overseas duty and left the next morning; Ross Dodson of Wayne and James of the Great Lakes naval training station at Chicago; two children dying in infancy. The Funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the M.E. Church at Magnet and internment was at the Magnet Cemetery.
