MARY DODSON

Mary Jones, daughter of Walker and Martha Jones, was born in Henry County,
Missouri, on February 24, 1867, and on November 30, 1882, was united in
marriage to W.R. Dodson at Lewis, Missouri, and from there moved to Otoe
County, Nebraska, where they lived until 1887, when they moved to Union,
Cass County Nebraska and from there came to Magnet in 1904, where they
have since resided. Mrs. Dodson was of a cheerful sunny disposition and
always one of the first to help and comfort another in their hour of
trouble, a devoted mother and wife, a good neighbor and friend whose
place in the community can never be filled.

Mrs. Dodson passed away at her home in Magnet at 10:30 Saturday evening,
August 31, 1918, after an illness of several months from cancer. Through
her long illness, Mrs. Dodson was ever patient and never complained of
her suffering.

She leaves besides her husband to mourn her loss, five daughters and three
sons; Mrs. Arthur Marsh near McLean, Mrs. Forrest Surface of Silver Creek,
Mrs. M.R. Martin of Wausa, Elma and Alma Dodson at home, Wilbur Dodson in
the U.S. Army, who arrived at home Tuesday night from Waco, Texas and was
called for overseas duty and left the next morning; Ross Dodson of Wayne
and James of the Great Lakes naval training station at Chicago; two children
dying in infancy.

The Funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the M.E. Church at Magnet
and internment was at the Magnet Cemetery.
