Korth ====================================================================== MELVIN FURNESS Mel Furness, 67, Magnet resident for many years, died of a heart attack July 16, while en route from Magnet, where the family had been visiting, to their home at Culver City, Calif. The Furness’ had left July 15 for their home and had gotten as far as Rock Springs, Wyo. when the fatal attack occurred. The body was returned to Magnet and funeral services were held there in the Church of Christ on Monday afternoon. Burial was in the Magnet Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Furness and their daughter. Mrs. George Trabalka and her children came three weeks ago for a visit with relatives and friends. They had attended several reunions and picnics. Survivors are his wife, Geneva; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Beck of Culver City, Mrs. Avis Sullivan of Laurel and Mrs. Wanda Trabalka of Hawthrone; two sons, Dale of Allen and Darrel of Oakland, Calif; eight grandchildren, one brother and four sisters. One son, John, preceded him in death.
