GYPSY BABY

(as told by Dalton Gillilan)

Every year a group of Gypsy’s would come through Magnet wanting to do 
some horse trading with the local men. This particular year, they made 
camp on the ground owned by Dalton’s father north of Magnet. A white man 
by the last name of Sherlock rode with them this time and the girl he 
was with was pregnant with his baby and when the child was born it died 
immediately and they asked if it could be buried in the Magnet Cemetery. 
Permission was given and it was laid to rest in the southwest corner in 
an unmarked grave. We believe the child was a little boy.
