Funeral Services will be on Monday, June 15, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington, with Rev. Bob Bryan officiating. Burial will be in the Hartington City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service and Video tribute at 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Pallbearers will be Brian Bonneau, Cory Bonneau, Robert Wingender, Kenneth Wingender, Keith Wingender, Patrick Hansen, Joel Hochstein, Michael Sandfort and Michael Ramsey. Elmer Lundbeck Hansen was born on August 26, 1915, on a farm near Hartington to John and Anna (Andersen) Hansen. He was baptized on September 12, 1919, and was confirmed on May 31, 1931 at the Danish Lutheran Church in Laurel, NE. He attended Pleasant View Country School and graduated on May 25, 1929. Elmer met the love of his life and married Cleone Berniece Nordby on January 20, 1944, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington. Elmer lived and farmed seven miles southeast of Hartington until moving into town in the fall of 1983. He also worked in Sioux City, Iowa, for a steel company until his retirement. Elmer was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing and watching baseball. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada, bowling, and playing cards with friends and family. Elmer is survived by his wife, Cleone, of Hartington; three children and their spouses, Karen and Don Bonneau of Los Alamos, N.M.; Robert and Nancy Hansen of Coleridge, NE; Kristi Hochstein of Hartington; a son-in-law, Bruce Wingender of Omaha, NE; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Bernice Wingender, two brothers, Axle and Henry Hansen, and a grandson in law, Russ Orr. Yankton Press & Dakotan June 13, 2009
