Hartsock, 99, of Ionia, Missouri, died Tuesday evening December 27, 1994 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp, Mo. She was born August 18, 1895, in Giltner, Nebraska, the daughter of Ernest W. Thayer and Mary Catherine Darby Thayer. On May 3, 1917, in Winner South Dakota, she married John Edwin (Ed) Hartsock, Sr., who preceded her in death July 30, 1992. Mr. Hartsock taught in country schools in the northern Nebraska area for several years, worked as a nurse’s aid at the Bothwell Hospital in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s for a few years, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Non-Denominational church, joining in 1925. Survivors include two sons, John E. Hartsock, Jr., Ionia, Mo., Collin Hartsock, Ord, Nebraska, a daughter, Imal Hartsock, Ionia, MO., a brother, Delbert Thayer, Creswell, Oregon; 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday December 30, 1994, 10:00 a.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Winsor, with Mr. John Culver and Mr. Charles Lauchner officiating. Saturday, December 31, at 2:00 p.m., funeral services will be held in Norfolk, Nebraska, at the Johnson-Stonacek Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Magnet Cemetery.
