Korth ====================================================================== VERNON LESTER JOY Vernon Lester Joy, 72, of Macomb, Illinois died at 2:15 p.m. Friday January 31, 2003 at McDonough District Hospital. He was born September 3, 1930 in Sioux City, Iowa to Harry and Helen Blanche (Reynolds) Joy. He married Stephany Stone. Mr. Joy served in the United State Air Force during the Korean War. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. He was a professor of psychology at Western Illinois University for 31 years. He is survived by; one son Jay W. Joy, of Round Lake; one daughter, Jessica Frost of Lake in the Hill; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 15 at Unitarian Universalist Church at Macomb.
