Permission granted by: Rob Dump, Editor, Cedar County News ====================================================================== July 3, 1924 Cedar County News Old Resident Here Dies Last Monday Mrs. Margaret Keegan Dies in Norfolk Hospital at Advanced Age Following a fall several weeks ago in which she broke a hip and from which she failed to recover, Mrs. Margaret Keegan, a resident of Cedar county for many years, passed away last Saturday in the state hospital at Norfolk. Mrs. Keegan was the aunt of Mrs. Henry Hoese of Hartington, with whom she has made her home for the past twenty years until last September, when she went to Norfolk. She was also the aunt of Mrs. Dick Crouch and Francis Keegan of Wynot. Her maiden name was Margaret Young, and she was born at Shelbyville, Indiana in 1842, being over 82 years at the time of her death. She was married to William Keegan in Wisconsin, and came to Cedar county about fifty years ago. Later on, she moved with her family to Missouri, but came back to the county twenty years ago. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Keegan, but as far as is known, but one of them survives her, a daughter who lives in Missouri. Mr. Keegan died a number of years ago and is buried in Missouri. The remains were sent to Wynot from Norfolk and funeral services were held from the Lutheran Church there on Tuesday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. R. Aga. Interment was in the Wynot cemetery.
