Wynot Tribune, Thurs. April 1, 1915 Death of Jacob Keiser Jacob Keiser was born in Germany March 29th, 1850 and passed away at his home in Cedar County March 26, 1915, and would have been 65 years old and had he lived until the 29th Mr. Keiser had been ailing for some time but was not seriously concerned until a few months ago. Some weeks ago he went to Rochester where an examination was made which disclosed the fact that he was suffering from cancer. Since that time he filed rapidly until the end came. Mr. Keiser came to America when 21 years of age, coming directly to Cedar county, where he has resided continuously every since. He was united in marriage to Miss Bernadine Woltering , February 4, 1879, and to this union eight children were born , all of whom survive him. His wife passed away on April 22nd, 1893. His children are John and Jacob who resided in South Dakota and Stephen who resides in Cedar County, Mrs. Mary Schroeder, Mrs. John Burbach, Mrs. Jos. H Burbach , Mrs. Mat Burbach and Mrs. Joe Brandl. He also leaves one brother John, who resides in Cedar county. Mr. Keiser was an honest and kindly man and a devoted Christian. He was among the early settlers of the county, and by virtue of industry and careful attention to business, he accumulated a comfortable income. Before his death he was making arrangements to retire from the farm and move to Wynot, where he had already commenced the erection of a home. His death comes as a shock to his many friends, and the children have the sincere sympathy of the entire community. The funeral was held from the Catholic Church at St. Helena last Monday. Card of Thanks We desire by this method to extend our sincere thanks to the neighbors and friends for their kind sympathy and assistance during the illness and at the demise of our beloved father, Jacob Keiser.
