Korth ====================================================================== GEORGE KINKAID George Kinkaid, resident of Pierce and Cedar Counties for nearly 80 years, died Tuesday afternoon at his home at the age of 90. He had been in failing health for several years and was taken seriously ill six weeks ago. Funeral Services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the Methodist Church, and burial will be in the Magnet Cemetery. Mr. Kinkaid was one of the few remaining early-day residents. He and Mrs. Kinkaid observed their 62nd wedding anniversary on January 1st. They were married at the home of her parents in Willow Creek locality southwest of Pierce and after spending four year there came to Cedar County, which had since been their home. George W. Kinkaid was born in Princeton, Scott County, Iowa, March 26, 1862, and when six years of age ho moved with his family to Minnesota. In 1872, the family came by ox team to Pierce County settling 15 miles west of Pierce in the Willow Creek community. On January 1, 1891, he was married to Cassie Forsythe at the home of her parents, and they farmed in that community many years and then came to the place nine miles north of Randolph. A number of years ago they retired and moved to their home in west Randolph. Surviving are his wife; children Harrison of Hartington, the twins Eugene of Lincoln and Mrs. Eunice Jonas of South Sioux City, Mrs. Ada Jensen of Randolph, Mrs. Nina Jensen of Coleridge, Mrs. Mabel Van Slyke, Mrs. Wilma Reed and Mrs. Hazel Graffis, 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
