MONTY LACKAS

This community was saddened once again, when word was received that Army 
Spec. 4 Monty G. Lackas 20, had died in combat March 24 in Vietnam. He 
was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lackas of Magnet.

He was married to the former Janet Erickson of Wausa who now resides at 
Columbus where the couple made their home before he entered service. Their 
marriage took place April 13, 1968 at Wausa.

Funeral arrangements are pending further word from the U.S. Army.

Monty Lackas was graduated from Wausa High School in 1966. He entered the 
Service in June 1968 and left for Vietnam the following November.

In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include two brothers, Steve 
of Magnet and Randy at home; paternal grandmother Mrs. Sadie Lackas of Pierce, 
formerly of Randolph; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Marie Koeppe of Tulare, Calif.
