Pioneer Died in Omaha Farnam Marks age 62, one of Cedar county’s oldest settlers, died Sunday at St. Joseph’s hospital in Omaha. His body was shipped to Hartington Tuesday and taken to his home east of town, where funeral services will be held Thursday, interment begin in the Wynot Cemetery. Mr. Marks went to the hospital about three weeks ago for treatment. His condition became critical Friday, and Mrs. Marks was called to Omaha Saturday and returned with the body on Tuesday, accompanied by her daughter Mary, and sister, Mrs. Noah Koebelin, who resides in Omaha. Mr. Marks was born in Germany, October 13, 1854, and came to America at the age of six years, settling with his parents on the home place east of town. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Harry, Charles and Arthur and daughter, Mary. Charles and Arthur are at home; the whereabouts of Harry is unknown, and Miss Mary is a teacher in the schools at Florence.
