Marx, 56, of Omaha who died unexpectedly at his home New Years Day, were held Wednesday morning at 10am from St. Cecilia’s Cathedral in Omaha. Burial was made in St. Michael’s cemetery in Hartington Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. Clement Bracht officiating at the graveside service. Wintz Mortuary was in charge of the local arrangements. Pallbearers were: Donald Kathol, Harold Schulte, Ray Schulte, Ted Evers, Frank Kurof, and George Barna. Joseph F. Marx, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Marx was born near Hartington March 19, 1894. He was married to Anna Kathol at SS. Peter and Paul church in Bow Valley in 1919. They made their home for a number of years in Omaha. He is survived by his wife Anna, two sons: Dwain of Omaha, and Jerome of Minneapolis, MN; two daughters: Mrs. Alice Wilwers of New York City and Mrs. Bernice Walton of Bleden. And his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Marx of Hartington. Many of the Hartington relatives went to Omaha to attend the funeral services Wednesday.
