CHARLES NELSON

C.M. Nelson, 58, was found dead by his son Ray, last Saturday May 4 in
a machine shop on the Nelson farm northwest of Randolph in the Magnet
vicinity. County officials deemed that no inquest was necessary. Mr.
Nelson had been in poor health for the past six months and was far from
being his usual self. His sudden death came as a shock to his devoted
family and to his friends and neighbors.

Charles M. Nelson was born in Sweden January 13, 1877 and with his parents
came to America in 1887, the family settling at Essex, Iowa. Later the family
moved to Shenandoah, Iowa. Mr. Nelson was united in marriage to Miss Anna
Johnson of Omaha in 1902 and they lived in Shenandoah until 1913 when they
moved to the home farm near Magnet where he resided until his death.

Mr. Nelson is highly spoken of by those who best knew him. He was an upright
man, a good farmer and a man who loved his home and family. His tragic death
is universally regretted and his family has the sympathy of many sincere friends.

Deceased leaves his wife Anna, and four children; Mrs. Philip Axelson of Wausa;
Hilma and Ray of Magnet and Harry Nelson of Omaha; and two grandchildren, Claris
Ann and Gloria Axelson. He also leaves five sisters and four brothers; Mrs. Anna
Bloomquist of Magnet, Mrs. Emma Almquist and Mrs. Dora Johnson of Essex, Iowa;
Mrs. Ida Manchester and Miss Otelia Nelson of Los Angeles; Sam and Ed Nelson of
Shenandoah and Frank Nelson of Los Angeles.
