News Pioneer Lady Passes Lived on Same Farm Thirty Years Mrs. Clara Reifenrath died at the old family home at Brooke’s Bottom Monday at the advanced age of 75 years. The funeral was held at St. James Wednesday morning, the interment was made in the St. James Cemetery. Mrs. Reifenrath was the widow of Franz Reifenrath, one of the pioneer citizens of the eastern part of Cedar county, who died in April, 1914. He came from Westphalen, Germany, in 1884 and purchased the farm which has since been the family home. Mrs. Reifenrath came out in 1885, and made the pioneer home in the new country a home indeed. Six children, four sons and two daughters survive. The sons are John C., Fred F. August A., and Max all of Cedar county, and Mrs. Frank Birch of Moscow, Iowa, and Mrs. Kenneth Behmore of Vermillion.
