Schmidt Wynot Tribune Nov. 12, 1914 The many old friends of the family will be pained to hear of the death of Mrs. P W Schmidt, a former resident here and pioneer of this part of the Nebraska. The death occurred at a hospital at her present home in Pender last Saturday, following an operation and for several days improved, but a sudden turn for the worse proved fatal. Anna Hoese was born in Dixon County 55 years ago, when she became a woman she was married to Peter W. Schmidt and they have been continuous residents of Cedar county up to a grew years ago, when they moved to Pender. Besides her husband, she leaves an aged mother, two daughters and one son, three brothers, and one sister, to mourn her loss. The funeral was held from the home of her mother at Hartington yesterday afternoon, being attended by a large crowd of old settlers and friends. Mrs. Schmidt was a woman of rare character and business ability, a loving and thoughtful wife and mother. She was a valuable asset of the society of any community , and her death cast a shadow of sorrow upon her hundreds of friends in this community where she resided so long. A large delegation from Wynot attended the funeral.
