Korth ====================================================================== MAXINE THIEROLF Maxine Thierolf, 86, Wausa died August 28, 2008, at the Golden Living Center at Wausa. Funeral services were held September 2 at the Methodist Church in Wausa with burial in the Magnet Cemetery. Maxine was the daughter of Harry and Clara (Stagg) Tilton and was born September 18, 1921 in the Bloomfield area. She grew up on farms and attended rural school in the Lindy area. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1939 with a teacher’s certificate and attended Wayne State College for one summer. She married Ona Thierolf August 25, 1952 at the Methodist Church in Bloomfield. The couple lived in Niobrara for a short time then moved to Magnet where “Onie” went in partnership at the filling station and trucking business in November 1952. Onie died March 30, 1974. She served on the Magnet School Board for nine years, was the Magnet Village Treasurer for 31 years and was treasurer of the United Methodist Church for many years until its closing. She worked at the Wausa Nursing Center for five years and then went to work at Osmond General Hospital for 15 years where she was a bookkeeper and patient accounts supervisor. After retiring, she continued living in Magnet until Moving to Wausa in 1997. Survivors include her children, Patricia Moore and her husband Ray, Norfolk and Bill Thierolf and wife Cathleen, Wausa; grandchildren, Christina D’Lallo, Jeremy and Brittney Barnes; great-grandchildren, Caden D’Lallo and Taylor Barnes and one sister, Marjorie Novacek, Verdigre. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.
