Korth ====================================================================== EMILY WINGETT Mrs. Emily Wingett, was born at Rushville, IL April 27, 1836 and died at her home in Magnet, October 18 at the age of 84 years. She was married to D.H. Miller in 1853. Mr. Miller was a Union Soldier during the Civil War and lost his life in the defense of his county. To this union was born four children, all of them having gone on before. The mother bore the hardships of the war and cared for her children through sickness and death all alone. In 1871 She married Calvin H. Wingett and to them was born two children, Mrs. Myrtle Jackson who passed away four years ago and Edwin J. Wingett of Butte, NE sole survivor of her family, and who was at his mothers side when the summons came. She had been cared for by her stepdaughter; Mrs. C.N. Moore, who made her home with her the past two years Grandma Wingett as she was lovingly called, united with the Christian Church early in life and lived and died in the faith of her Savior. A short service was held at the house in charge of Rev. N.S. Carpenter of Carroll, burial being made in the Magnet Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon.
