Korth ====================================================================== GEORGE R. YOUNG George R. Young, 25, lifelong resident of the Randolph and Magnet vicinity, died Saturday morning in the Immanuel Hospital at Omaha, where he had undergone a major operation on Friday. He rallied following the operation but his condition became critical early Saturday and he passed away six hours later. Funeral services will be held today, Thursday from the George W. Young residence near Magnet at 1:30 and from the Magnet Methodist church at 2:00. Interment will be in the Magnet Cemetery. Mr. Young who had farmed in the Magnet Community for several years had been in ill health the past year and held a farm sale on January 28th. He entered the hospital last Thursday night. Surviving him are his wife, the former Margie Arp; one son George Alan, eight months old; his father George W. Young of Magnet; four sisters, Mrs. Ralph Beaudette of Pierce, Mrs. Albert Clausen of Magnet, Mrs. Hugo Milander of Hartington and Mrs. Walter Hoppe of McLean; two brothers Chris of McLean and Clarence of Chambers. His mother died in April 1943 and his sister Flossie in 1932. George Raymond Young was born south of Randolph April 17, 1918 and when five years old moved with his parents to the Magnet community where he lived the rest of his life. He was married September 16, 1939 to Margie Arp at the Golgotha Lutheran Church of Wausa and they had farmed in the Magnet community until his recent sale.
