Boost for Wynot, You’ll never regret it. Peter Lund is finishing several house for rental purposes. Work is being started on the new elevator of Saunders, Westrand and co. An addition is being built to the store building just north of Chamberlain’s blacksmith shop. Thos. A. Jones of the Wynot Townsite company was business visitor in Sioux City on Tuesday. Thos. N. Jones has commenced the erection of a feed store and storage house on a lot south of the pool hall. The firm of Brunswick and Asbra has been dissolved, each one continuing the dray business for himself. 1-30-1908 The second nine ball team have ordered new suits coming season and the boys will look more like ball players now. The Farmers State Bank people have moved into their new building which is one of the nicest in this part of the state. 3-19-1908 You just ought see the new sidewalks in Wynot. Sam Penticoff has just finished a fine mansion in Wynot. When you come to Wynot now you will know where you are at. Everybody has a new sign. 4-24-1908 Wynot will Celebrate It is so Decided at a Meeting of the Commercial club Incorporation I May Proceedings of the Commercial Club at Its meeting Tuesday Night. Wynot will celebrate the Fourth of July. It was so decided by a unanimous vote of the commercial club at its meeting Tuesday evening. Full arrangements have not yet been made, but will be at the next meeting. It was the general opinion that we should have a rousing celebration with ball games, horse races, foot races, and etC. There was a good attendance of the members of the Commercial club at its meeting. The incorporation matter was taken up and it was finally decided to complete the incorporation of the town with such boundaries as it is possible to secure without delaying the matter and the chairman was instructed to appoint a committee to take the petition before the county commissioners and secure its passage. On vote of the club Messrs. Alex Schulte Jr., S. Patterson, F.A. Kindwall, E.A. Miller and J.S. Emerson were recommended as trustees for the first year. The Tribune job department is turning out the phone book for the Wynot Telephone exchange. The Presbyterian Church will be removed to Wynot at once. Mr. Lammers has the contract and will soon be ready to bring it over. CEDAR COUNTY NEWS 2-20-1908 A few more sidewalks if you please, Mr. Town company. There were two cars of hogs and one of cattle shipped out of Wynot Tuesday. We are informed that J.T. Witthouse has the contract to move the M.E. Church. The first National Bank moved into their new building Monday. They have a very fine institution which would do credit to a much larger town.
