Gleanings from... WYNOT TRIBUNE 12/05/1912 OSWALD AND HUMPHREY RITES The marriage of Edwin H. Oswald and Miss Alice E. Humphrey was celebrated at the First Congregational church in Sioux City at high noon on Thanksgiving day by Rev. Short, the pastor of the church. The wedding was a quiet affair, having been previously so arranged. The groom is a junior member of the firm of Konegni & Co., who operates the Obert Hardware Store. He is a young man highly esteemed in this community. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Humphrey of this place and is a young lady very popular among her acquaintances. The people of Obert and vicinity extend most hearty congratulations, and best wishes that their wedded life may be one of continued happiness and prosperity. LUTHERAN CHURCH TO MOVE TO OBERT A strong effort is being made to move the Lutheran Church from Sandy Point to Obert. The people here are anxious and willing to their share to bring this about, providing they can get the consent of the church membership and official board. If the move can be brought about it is likely that the pastor will arrange to hold an occasional service in Wynot for the benefit of the members who live there and near about. WYNOT SCHOOL BEING FINISHED The brick work on the new school house is completed and Contractor Lukken is getting busy on the roof and other building. With just a little more good weather the building will be ready for occupancy.
