Permission granted by: Rob Dump, Editor, Cedar County News ====================================================================== CEDAR COUNTY NEWS 11-25-1915 Wynot School Closes Outbreak of diphtheria cause action Two scholars in the Wynot Public School are ill of diphtheria and the school board decided to close the schools last Friday evening until November 29, in order to prevent any possible spread of the disease due to exposure of other children, befoe the nature of the ailment of those who are ill was definitely known. The fact that there would be but three school days this week owing to Thanksgiving coming on Thursday had some effect on the board in reaching this decision. The officials of the paroachial school at Wynot concurred in the decision of the public school board and this parochial school is also closed this week, although none of the children have been exposed to the disease so far as is known. A rumor that the school at St. James has been close could not be confirmed. Miss Eugena Hedglin is a teacher in the Wynot public schools and Miss Edith Koenig teaches in the parochial school there and both are enjoying an unexpected vacation this week.
