Roads in all directions were blocked. A few tractors and a team and wagon were the only means of travel seen. Electricity was off Thursday and Friday afternoons. There was no mail or bus service Friday and Saturday and the town was out of bread. The heavy thunder and vivid lightning Thursday afternoon and during the night seemed more like a spring storm. The county maintainer was out Saturday opening the streets. The funeral of Merritt Smith which was to have been held Saturday had to be postponed owing to the blocked roads. No services were held at the Methodist Church as the pastor, who comes from Yankton, was unable to get here. The Luther League meeting at Bethany Lutheran Church was not held. Services were held at Sacred Heart Church Sunday morning.
