EMMA STRENZKE OBSERVES BIRTHDAY

Wynot - Wynot's only nonagenarian, Miss Emma Strenzke, quietly 
observed her 94th birthday anniversary, Monday, June 16, at the home 
of her sister, Mrs. Edith Klopping with whom she has made her home 
for several years since falling health made it inadvisable for her to 
live alone as she has done for several years.

Miss Strenzke has something of a record for continous residence in 
this community having been a resident here for 76 years. Owing to 
failing health no special observance of the day was planned but the 
honored lady received many cards of greeting and congratulations. Miss 
Strenzke came to Cedar County in 1876 from her birth place in Prairie 
du Chien, Wisc., From a large family Miss Strenzke, the oldest and Mrs. 
Klopping, the youngest are the only remaining members of the pioneer 
family.
