Permission granted by: Rob Dump, Editor, Cedar County News ====================================================================== CEDAR COUNTY NEWS – Nov 5, 1953 Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nohr of Aten Celbrate Their Golden Wedding Anniversary Oct. 27 Aten – Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nohr of Aten were guest of honor at their home Oct. 27, in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. A two-tiered cake centered the table. Many bouquets of flowers featured the golden theme. Mr.and Mrs. Henry Nohr were married at Menominee Oct. 27, 1903 by Rev. Becker. Mrs. Hyenry Merkel and Jacob Nohr were witnesses. Mr. Nohr is a native of Wisconsin and Mrs. Nohr, the former Gertrude Hellman, is a native of Cedar County. They have lived on the same farm fifty years, 47 of which have been spent in the same house. The Nohrs are parents of four daughters; Mrs. Byrle Gilson and Mrs. Carl Schwartz of Crofton, Mrs. Pat Lane of Yankton, and Mrs. Bob White of Torrance, CA., and six sons, Floyd, Marvin, Harry and Dan of Crofton, and Merle of Oakland Ca. one son Vern died in 1951. They have 24 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A two course luncheon was served to about 40 guests, including the children and grandchildren and their families. The honored couple received many gifts.
