Mrs. Christine Anderson, residing 10 miles east of Hartington, has been advised by the war department that the body of her son, Stanley, would arrive in New York next Thursday, August 25th. It is expected to reach Hartington early the following week. No arrangements have yet been made for the funeral, which will be of military character. A public service may be held in town so that all who wish to do so may have an opportunity to pay their final tribute to the fallen soldier and another service may be arranged at the Paragon Church, which he attended. Burial will be in the Paragon Cemetery. Stanley Anderson was 27 years of age at the time of his death, July 15, 1918. He was a member of the second draft from Cedar County being trained at Camp Funston and being assigned to a machine gun battery. He was killed in action in a drive in the Rheims-Noyon salient.
