At the old home his schoolmates and boyhood chums will be given ample opportunity to pay their final tribute to the heroic soldier. The body is expected to arrive in New York the last of this week and will probably arrive in Hartington some time next week. Many requests have come to the family to permit a military funeral at the courthouse so that all might attend. “It would not seem as tho we had him home again unless the funeral was held from his old home,” said Mrs. Anderson to the News. “and so we want him with us again even if it is only for a few hours. I know it is so far from town that many, who would like to do so may be unable to come. If the service men wish to have a short service there when the body arrives we will be glad to have them do so.” Owing to the absence of officers of the American Legion at the National Guard Camp at Des Moines definite arrangements have not yet been made. The funeral cortege will go from the home 10 miles east of town to the Paragon Church where the funeral service will be conducted. Interment will be made in the Paragon cemetery.
