This District was begun between 1904-1907. Homesteaders built the sod school, Charlie Hill planted a grove of cedars near the school and the school became known as Cedar Grove. Some of these trees can still be seen on the site.
In 1912 another sod school was built, about a mile northwest of the cedar grove under bizzare conditions. An account of the incident was published n the Custer County Chief:

"Warrants are out for the arrest of Charles hill, Arthur Babcock, and Nate C. Patton, three Kinkaiders living north of Arnold, charging them with maliciously and unlawfully destroying a school house, and removing the furniture and fixtures from the costody of the board. The demolation of the school house was the result of a hot meeting held in District 193 on Monday evening last week. A number of Kinkaiders in that part of the district have been desirous for some time past to change the location of the school to the north side of the district, and according to those present , the meeting was one grand turmoil from beginning to end. At the start the northsiders began an agressive movement, they jumped in, took control of the meeting and proceeded to run things along their own lines. A motion was rushed through and carried, that the school house site be changed, 18 for and 14 against. This was the signal for a general uproar, and the meeting broke up in confusion.
On the following morning, when some of the board went to the schoolhouse, they found it demolished, nothing left but the fondation. The furniture, organ, desks, maps and the rest of the school equipment had been taken and hidden in a place unknown to the board. Those in the vicinty were highly incensed, as the school house had been built by subscription, they felt they should have the controling voice.
On Friday treasurer Charlie Cass and Moderator Gil Hughes came to Broken Bow and laid the case before the County attorney who issued complaints agains Hall, Babcock and Patton."

The Cheif later reported that the case had come before a judge and the parties are to rebuild the school house at their own expense, on the site decided upon at the meeting, and that it was to be ready by September 1st.
A few years later a frame School house was built between the two former sites.
