In 1877 Jeremiah Holderman came from Fairfield, Clay County Nebraska, and held a revival in a sod house six and ahalf miles northeast of Cozad. this revival lasted eight weeks. After this services were held once a month in the same sod house. Later Cottonwood school was built and services were held there.
