Greetings from Martin's Gen'L Store museum in Millburn, Lake County, Illinois. We are a local history museum. We have an internet website at www.nsn.org/wrkhome/hmca/  It seems that our little village has a connection or two with North Bend, NE. These have developed while I am researching our original settlers. Certainly, John Yule Smith was born here. A number of our local citizens moved there. One (or more) may have been involved in a land scandal there. My purpose for writing to you today is to see if you can point me to a knowledgable contact to explore some of these points. I would be especially interested in contacting descendants of these families. I'm most interested in the following families: Hastings, (several, including Hon. Anson): Leith, (and their Thain relatives) :Smith, John Yule :Thom, Alex :White, Andrew:Young., George .. but there are others.

I am researching the ANDERSON family of Dodge County.  WILLIAM ARTHUR ANDERSON and EFFA MAY (LESHER) ANDERSON married 5/2/1914.  They had four children: Walter George (b 6/23/1921, Nickerson, NE,) Robert H., Beatrice E., and Chester (died young.)  EFFA MAY LESHER graduated from Fremont Normal in 1912 and taught there for a time.  I am interested in obtaining copies of old yearbooks to see if she is listed.  I believe their children may have gone to
school in Dodge County.  We don't have a birthdate or place for WILLIAM ARTHUR ANDERSON.  His parents were GEORGE MARION ANDERSON, (d 8/8/1927 in Long Pine, NE) and LYDIA ANN (DANIELS) ANDERSON, (d 10/6/1907 in Mariasville, NE)  Also interested in obtaining a copy of The Rock County Leader dated 5/6/1937, if
available.  Any information at all, would be most appreciated.
