Mrs. Rachel Ervin Pell of Union, NE died, in ___ 1941. Born in Auglaize Co. Ohio, July 13, 1843 to John & Ravina Ervin, Rachel was brought west to Nebraska in 1853 when she was 10. The family disembarked at Old Wyoming just out of Neb. City and from there proceded to Liberty a town just north of Rock Bluff, where her father operated a store. 2-3 years later, they purchased a farm known as Springdale, now a beautiful home known as Larsh's. She spent her young life on that farm and was married there on Aug. 13, 1863 to Henry T. Pell. She had seven children, four daughters: Ravina Etta (m. Adolphus Pearsley); Lydia, (m. Edward Midkiff); May, (m. John Niday); & Alice (m. Mr. Hughson); three sons, J. L. Pell, Meredith Pell, & John.
