The Daily Nebraska City News - 2 July 1887
reprinted from the Liberty Journal, Gage County, Nebraska
A. L. CLAYPOOL, private secretary to J. W. BOOKWALTER was in town Saturday. He informed us that the Omaha & Southwestern surveyors were in the vicinity of the proposed town on the BOOKWALTER land & was confident the road will be built. It is also generally conceded, we believe that the Wyandotte will give BOOKWALTER a town at the crossing of the 2 roads. The town will be east of WALKER’S store & about 10 miles from Liberty. It is BOOKWALTER’S intention to improve all of his land out near the proposed town site, to build a house on every eighty-acre tract & make other needed improvements.
