Hitchcock County Nebraska Queries

I invite you to enter a query for your Hitchcock County ancestors. Every effort will be made to post your query within 72 hours, however no guarantees can be made.

Your query must have a Hitchcock County connection or it will not be posted.

Please capitalize the surnames, and provide as much information as possible. What specifically are you seeking in the way of new data?

Fill out the query form provided, please follow the instructions, and your query will be automatically posted on a temporary posting page. I will post queries from the temporary page to this page periodically.

"Because of privacy issue, queries which involve people which may still be alive will not be posted on NEGenWeb Project pages. NEGenWeb recommends that you contact an agency that locates missing people, if you can't find the person listed in online White Pages, etc." If your primary interest is recent adoption information (less than 70 years), we recommend you check Cyndi's List for adoption websites - you are more likely to make meaningful contact there than on genealogy pages.

BAILEY, BECKWITH
I am searching for the marriage of John Weaver BAILEY [aka Weaver Elmer BAILEY] and Nellie Bessie BECKWITH. John and Nellie had 6 children, two of whom, Walter Edward (1905-1968), and Robert Wayne (1906-1938) were born in Culberson, Hitchcock Co. Neb. Their third and fourth children, Harry M. (1908-1944) and Bessie Irene (1909-1990) were also born in Neb but I don't know where. Their fifth child Velda (1913-1987) was born in Colorado and last child John Jeston (1918-1977) was born in Kansas. LUNDY, SATCHELL
According to recent family information, Maria(h) Satchell was living with her son, Augustus Lundy somewhere near Culberston at the time of her death. Family records show the date as 11 Jan. 1899. She was buried in a cemetery about 11 miles northwest of Culbertson with only a wooden marker to show her grave site. Another son, Matthew Simpson Satchell was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church in the Holdredge District from 1903-29. He died in Culberston in 1939. I'm trying to verify all of this and, especially to find an obituary or any other information that might name her parents.
