KNEPPER posted by DM Bay on Monday, January 7, 2002

Hello, My father lived in this county for a few years in the 1920s so when the name O'Neill came up in a genie list that I subscribe to, I took notice. I am not related to this family below mentioned but thought someone might be able to connect to it.

"I have a tinted high school picture of Alice KNEPPER from O'Neill, Nebraska, which I would like to return to her or her children. It was taken in about 1951. John Galuardi jgaluardi@yahoo.com"

Good Luck! Di ;)

O'BRIEN posted by Frank Brodersen on Thursday, January 17, 2002

my great grandparents lived in O'Neill during 1900-1912. Their last name was O'Brien. My family knows very little about them. Her first name was Martha, maiden name unknown. His first name is also unknown.
Martha was pregnant with my grandmother when her husband was killed in an accident sometime during 1912. Martha had several children already and thought she would be unable to support another so she gave the child up for adoption. The child was given to the care of Carl & Anna Toelke of Herman NE. Her whereabouts are unknown after 1913. Any help would be welcome. I wish I could be of more help, but no one knows what his first name was.

FANNING, LEONARD posted by Debbie Gochenour-Hansen on Friday, January 18, 2002

I forgot to mention in my last post that I also found John Leonard in the 1900 census in Conley, but could not find him in the 1920 census. So I am relatively sure he died somewhere between 1917 and 1920. Hope this additional information helps.

I am trying to find the death dates of my gg grandparents, John C. Leonard and Amanda Fanning-Leonard. Also would love to find out where they are buried. They lived in the Chambers area, (I believe in Conley or Harold). I did find John in the Nebraska Gazetteer for Holt County, 1890, and believe he was also in the Gazetteer for 1917. Would appreciate any information I can get on this elusive relative. Thank you in advance.
