Both my grandparents lived in O'Neill and I'm trying to trace my family tree but need help. I know my grandmother's family had a family tree done but I can't find a copy of it or where to look. My grandfather was Robert James Burks and my grandmother was Eileen Marguerite Burks, her maiden name was Sullivan. I do believe. Her sister still lives there in O'Neill but I don't have a phone number or address for her. As I said my grandfather was a Burks and his mother was Laura Standard. I heard they had the gas station or a store of some kind in O'Neill. I'd like to know my family. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Becky

I'm looking for information on Asa D. Cowles, born 11 Sep. 1852 in Lee Co. Iowa, and died 10 Mar. 1887 in Holt Co. NE. Asa was married to his cousin, Jane Lucina Cowles on 22 Sep. 1875 in Lee Co. Iowa. They lived in 2 locations in Iowa before moving to Holt Co. NE about 1882. Their youngest child, Ethel Mary was born in Holt Co. 2 July 1883. I would like to know his burial place and if there is a obit or probate record. Jane's sister Ella joined them in Holt Co. and was married to Jesse Rudolph Thornton in O'Neill, Holt Co. on 23 May 1888. Jane and her children, and Ella and Jesse returned to Ft. Madison, Lee Co. Iowa in 1888.
