PS - BUNKER: Henry, John, Mary Jane, and Jula Ann, all appear as "orphans" in Broome Co., NY in the 1855 Census. Henry is 18, John is 22, Mary Jane 15 (should be 17), etc. In 1880 census of Merrick County, NE - I found a John BONKER (this is common mis-spelling of the surname). In 1900 Mary Jane Bunker Andrews is living in Merrick County. A Henry H. Bunker also appears in Merrick Co in the 1900 census, but he is born OH. I am curious. Does anyone know more about John Bonker or Henry H. Bunker? Thanks, Cathy Morgan.

BLAGG

John BLAGG (born Mar 1828, OH - See 1900 Census ED136 p11b D237 F240 Section Line, Central City Ward 2, Merrick, NE)
     married Mariah FOSTER

John continued freighting with his brother-in-law, Traverse Foster, until the Civil War. He and Traverse entered the Union Army.
John served with the Iowa State Troops patroling along the Iowa-Missouri border, guarding against guerilla bands operating in Missouri and Kansas.
After the Civil War, John engaged mainly in farming until 1885, when he moved to Merrick County, Nebraska around Central City.
He continued to farm in Nebraska until his retirement in 1900. Mariah passed away in 1894. He then lived with his eldest daughter, Mariah and family.
Through the years, John lost contact with his family. He once said he would give anything to see his brother, Harvey (Wm. Harvey) again or to know what became of him. He had a tin type of Harvey that was taken in Tennessee in 1865 at the close of the Civil War. John named Harvey as a baby, with the consent of his parents.
John told stories of driving an animal cage for the Yankee Robinson Circus in Ohio and surrounding areas for about two years as a young man.
