Patrick J. BOSAK, 55 (photo)"OLATHE, Kan. -- I, Patrick J. Bosak, 55, yielded peacefully to my 8 month battle with cancer to begin my eternal life with my Lord and Savior on April 9, 2005, at my home in Olathe, Kan.
A celebration of my life will take place at Indian Creek Community Church in Olathe, Kan., on Tuesday, April 12, at 11 a.m. A memorial service will also be held in Fullerton at the American Legion, for family and boyhood friends on Thursday, April 14, at 3 p.m. Following cremation, my ashes will be spread according to my wishes.
I was born Sept. 2, 1949, in Genoa. Raised in Fullerton, I was active in Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow Brotherhood) and sports. Graduating in 1967, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served as an air rescue medic in Europe and Southeast Asia before returning to Texas, where I served as an Equal Opportunity-Race Relations Instructor.
Following an Honorable Discharge, I attended and graduated from Kearney State College in Kearney, where I wrote for the local and college newspapers and was active in student affairs. I later served on the Alumni Board of Directors for the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
I taught high school in Kansas City, Kan., for four years before joining Walsworth Publishing. I spent the past 10 years working in sales and service for Jostens Publishing in the Kansas City area. I enjoyed my family, camping and pursuing adventures with my family and friends. I especially want to thank those who made my last days memorable, Nancy (I couldn't have done it with out you, dear), my kids and all other family members, and my buddies, Zap and Geoff. Thanks to all.
I was preceded in death by my mother and my brothers, twins David and Danny Bosak.
I am survived by my loving wife, Nancy, and children, Chelsea and Curtis, of Roeland Park, Kan., and Alissa, of the home. I am also survived by my father, Edward, Fullerton; sisters, Kathy (Len) Dubas, Palmer, and Kristine (Mike) Nave, Mesa, Ariz.; and brothers, Michael (Cherole), Fullerton, and Larry (Barb), Grand Island; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers I ask that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society, memo line: c.o.t restricted, PO Box 79604, Baltimore, MD 21279-0604."
