I am looking for information on Walter and Florence (Wolfe) Smith. They were married on December 20, 1899 in Cedar Bluffs, Saunders, NE. The family story says that Walter Smith was a very hard worker, but had spells when he was not "well". During one of his "spells" Florence kicked him out of the house. It is said that he went to work for a neighbor for room and board and everyone felt sorry for him because he was a gentle man and a hard worker, but when he had his spells he was hard to handle. He was supposedly finally sent to the Nebraska Institute for the Insane. Based on Florence's age at the time of her wedding, (17), I'm betting that Walter was probably in his 20's at the time. Since they had 3 children (no birthdates), I am making another assumption that they were born about a year apart so that all three children would have been born by 1905. With those assumptions in place, he would have been committed anytime after 1905.
I have information on Florence but absolutely nothing on her husband Walter except the story. And I hate making assumptions. If anyone has any information to share concerning this family, please contact me. I thank you ahead of time for your time.

My surnames are ALBIN, LEIGHTY, MCCONAHAY. My ggrandmother is buried in the Valparaiso cemetery according to her death certificate (1903) There is no headstone. Her name was Almira Albin - daughter of John and Jane McConahay. I believe John is buried there also. Are there records of the cemetery if they do not have a headstone. I know that my ggrandfather Amos Leighty bought a couple of plots there and I am thinking she (Almira) would be buried close to these but I have know idea how to find out. He didn't use these plots - He is buried in Omaha.

Hi list,
My g-grandparents lived in Ashland in the 1920's, possibly before then too. Has any one run across the name STOKES, James and Katherine? They came to America from England between the 1850's to 1900. Can't read the year on the census page. Also buried in the Ashland Cemetery.
Thanx a bunch, Cindy:>
