I HAVE USED THE NEBRASKA SITE FOR NOT QUITE A YEAR NOW, AND HAVE HAD GGOD LUCK FINDING SOME PEOPLE WHO ARE CONNECTED TO ME THROUGH OUR GREAT GRANDFATHERS, ON BOTH MY MOM'S SIDE, AND MY DAD'S, SO I WOULD SAY THE NEGENWEB HAS CERTAINLY BEEN A SUCCESS STORY FOR ME. THERE IS ONE COUNTY THAT DOES NOT KEEP UP WITH THEIR SITE THOUGH, AND I HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL IN GETTING ANYTHING POSTED, FOR AS LONG AS I HAVE BEEN DOING MY GENEOLOGY LOOKUPS. THE COUNTY IS AN IMPORTANT ONE FOR ME, BUT I HAVE CONTACTED THE LIBRARY IN THE TOWN I WAS INTERESTED IN, AND THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL. I MAINLY USE JEFFERSON, CLAY, FILLMORE, SALINE AND THAYER COUNTIES, AND I AM THANKFUL FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DO ALL OF THE WORK AT THESE SITES, HELPING US FIND OUR HERITAGE AND ROOTS IN NEBRASKA.

I am fairly new with my tree tracing on the Web. I am so glad I found this NE. site. I live in Riverside, CA., and have been searching for my ancestors in Burt, Dodge, Washington, and Thurston counties for quite some time, I was almost ready to make a trip back there, but I am sure I will find this site very helpful. Thank you for all your efforts. I was born in Omaha years ago.

My great grandfather George Elias Frank come from a town called Painted Post,NB. Iwas trying to locate this town and the County but no luck evidently the town is no longer there. I will need an older map or if anyone knows it would help.
NOTE: We haven't been able to find a town by that name in Nebraska. There is a town by that name in Steuben Co., NY.

I have found some information in my family search. Mainly in the form of old maps and city, county locations. I have been searching for specific family information from 1880-1900.The 1895 maps (geography, locations & railroad info) and surname search have provided leads along with the German/Russion links. I will browse more and hope to find county level resources. Thanks. Donald J. Hoffman, Englewood, Colorado

The NebraskaGenWeb, with all of the county information is great. Many members of my husband's paternal side were born and/or lived in various counties of Nebraska, such as York, Seward, Saline, Hamilton, Franklin, Buffalo, Cozad, Lincoln, Cedar & Dixon Counties. Our son-in-law's Grandmother was born in Phelps County, so it is a treat to be able to find info about the areas to add to our family history.

I am pleased to have found your site. I love genealogy, but have little time to devote to the search. I was going to spend a few minutes looking up James Daniel Brown of Brainard area in late 1800's, but managed to spend several hours traveling through your sites. I have bookmarked your site and will return. Keep up the great work.
