Post: I have been delighted to find the book "Franciscans in Nebraska" on-line since many of the names mentioned in this 1931 book were priests from the Sacred Heart Province in Quincy Illinois/St. Louis Missouri and were men who served earlier in my little hometown of Wien, Missouri(http://www.geocities.com/wien2000us). Reading sections of the book especially from St. Bernard's parish were very familiar to me and I am so thankful to Sherri Brakenhoff, Ted and Carole Miller for posting it. Post: I try to visit this site on a regular basis as I have found many of my ancestor's here. Some I have have found on the census records, others through email. One of my favorite parts of this site, though, is the postings of obits and such that are being made available through the work of Lynn Chase. If you folks reading this have not looked through the lists of names and contacted her on the names you might be interested in, you should give it a try! Post: He! My father John Mervin Francis lived most of his life in Omaha Nebraska. Although I spoke to him by telephone several times I never met him. I am told he is interned in omaha. We were only notified about his death because I called his home and was told three weeks after the fact. I think he was at St. Josephs Hospital? I was about the late 1980.
