This is a NEGenWeb Project web page

While there weren't many African-Americans among Nebraska's early settlers, there were a few who came here, and for the same reason as other settlers - to build a better life for themselves and their families. Some of these made valuable contributions to their communities and to the evolving history of the state of Nebraska.

We hope to expand this site to include areas for veterans of all wars as well as one for those who made a significant contribution to their community and state.
