The Library of Congress map site has several maps available for Nebraska, most of which show the railroads at various stages before 1900. This is a great place to start! Follow the link and then choose Nebraska. When you are at the Nebraska index, the 1865, 1874, 1876, 1886, 1879, 1889, 1889, and 1897 all show railway routes.
