FIRST DAY.

WYMORE, NEBR., Wednesday, September 17th, 1902.

   Opening. The forty-second session of the Nebraska Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal church was held in Wymore, Nebraska, beginning Wednesday, September 17th, 1902, at 9:00 a. m., Bishop Charles H. Fowler D. D. LL. D. presiding. The 798th hymn, beginning

"And are we yet alive
And see each other's face."

was announced and sung, after which the sacrament of the Lord's Supper was observed by the Conference, the Bishop being assisted in the administration of it by the Presiding Elders.

   Roll Call. The secretary of the last Conference, Orien W. Fifer, called the roll and 100 members and probationers responded to their names as follows: (See names marked present on roll.)

   Secretary. On motion of George I. Wright, Orien W. Fifer was elected secretary by acclamation and authorized to name his assistants. He named J. W. Scott, O. T. Moore, and G. A. Hobson, and they were confirmed.

   Statistical Secretary. On motion of A. C. Crosthwaite, E. D. Gideon was elected statistical secretary by acclamation and authorized to name his assistants. He named J. W. Embree, A. V. Wilson, E. M. Furman, E. F. Gates, A. M. Perry, C. E. Giwits, E. L. Barch, George C. Cobb and C. P. Metcalf, and they were approved.

   Treasurer. On motion of J. S. W. Dean, A. C. Crosthwaite was elected treasurer by acclamation and authorized to name his assistants. He named W. K. Williams and G. M. Jones and they were approved.

   Postmaster. On motion of John Gallagher, A. E. Chadwick was elected postmaster by acclamation.

   Standing Committees. J. R. Gettys for the Presiding Elders read the following nominations for the Standing committees and they were approved. (See Standing committees.)

   Methodist Review and World Wide Missions. On motion of O. W. Fifer, John Calvert was appointed to solicit subscribers to the Methodist Review. On motion of G. I. Wright, G. C. Cobb was appointed to solicit subscribers to World Wide Missions.

   Transfers. The secretary read the following list of transfers into the Conference and those present were introduced: Merrill C. Brooks, a Deacon in studies of the third year, from the Ohio, B. F. Summers, an elder from the South Kansas, M. P. Dixon, an Elder from the Oregon,

F. P. Blakemore, an Elder from the Kansas, O. L. Burres, a probationer in studies of the the third year from the West Nebraska, Charles Burns, an Elder from the St. Louis, James A. Rousey, a Deacon in the studies of the third year from the Illinois, and Howard P. Young, a probationer in studies of the first year from the West Nebraska Conference. The secretary also read the following notices of transfers out of the Conference: C. L. Hamilton to the Oregon, J. E. McKenney to the Ohio, and A. B. Whitmer to the Kansas Conference. The transfer of William T. Taylor, a probationer in studies of first year, from the Missouri Conference into this Conference was announced by the Bishop.

   Bar of Conference. On motion of J. W. Royse, as amended, the bar of the Conference was fixed within the first five rows of seats from the altar.

   Readmission. On motion of J. S. W. Dean, J. H. N. Cobb was readmitted into the Conference upon his certificate of location granted in 1901.

   Session Hours. On motion of L. G. Parker, the hours for the Conference sessions were fixed at 8:30 a. m. to 12 m., the first half hour to be spent in devotional exercises.

   Addresses of Welcome. The Rev. R. A. Harrison, pastor of the Congregational church in Wymore, and the Rev. S. R. Bellville, pastor of the Presbyterian church in Blue Springs, and the Hon. A. D. McCandless, city attorney of Wymore, made addresses of welcome.

   Reports. On motion of T. H. Worley, preachers in charge when reporting were requested to state whether all the collections had been taken and what amount had been secured for missions.

   XIII Question. The thirteenth question of the general minutes was taken up: "Was the character of each preacher examined?"
   The character passed of James R. Gettys, Presiding Elder of the Beatrice district and he read his report. The character passed of the following effective Elders on the Beatrice district and those present and in charge reported: D. L. Thomas, E. L. Barch, J. W. Lewis, F. M. Esterbrook, Frank Mills, N. J. Chrysler, J. T. Roberts, W. M. Balch, E. F. S. Darby, J. W. Embree, I. L. Lowe, F. W. Bean, J. W. Stewart, J. D. Hammel, G. M. Morey, L. G. Parker, J. W. Swan, Charles Burns.

   Change in Relation. On motion of J. R. Gettys, N. J. Chrysler was granted a supernumerary relation.

   Withdrawn. On motion of J. R. Gettys, G. L. Hosford was permitted to withdraw under complaints. His parchments were deposited with the secretary of the Conference.

   Death of W. N. Simpson. J. R. Gettys announced the death of W. N. Simpson, who had been transferred to the Colorado Conference during the year. On motion of W. M. Balch, the secretary was instructed to send a letter of condolence to Mrs. Simpson.

   The thirteenth question was resumed. The character passed of Richard Pearson, Presiding Elder of the Hastings district, and he read his report. The character passed of the following effective Elders on the

   Committee of Inquiry. On motion of Richard Pearson, the Bishop was requested to appoint a committee of Inquiry, consisting of five persons, in the case of P. H. Smith. The following were appointed: W. B. Alexander, N. A. Martin, F. A. Colony, B. W. Marsh, G. M. Morey.

   Afternoon Session. On motion of A. C. Crosthwaite a session of the Conference was ordered held at 2 P. M. to receive statistical reports and arrange for the publishing of the Conference Minutes. The Bishop appointed W. B. Alexander to, preside and L. C. Lemon to conduct the devotions.

   The thirteenth question was resumed. The character passed of James F. Kemper, Presiding Elder of the Lincoln district, and he read his report. The character passed of the following effective Elders on the Lincoln district and those present and in charge reported: C. A. Hale, G. M. Jones, J. W. Royse, H. G. Wilcox, C. B. Lenfest, A. M. Perry, J. K. Maxfield, J. A. Nichols, T. S. Fowler, W. M. Worley, A. B. Grossman, L. F. Smith, P. P. Carroll, F. L. Wharton, N. A. Martin, J. G. Day, A. J. Hollingworth, J. G. Stanard, L. C.    Financial Report of J. W. Seabrook. J. F. Kemper made a statement concerning the loss of the benevolent money raised and forwarded by mail by J. W. Seabrook last year. He presented a draft for $56 from J. W. Seabrook, and on his motion this amount was ordered credited to Ceresco charge this year, with a foot-note stating that it was raised last year.

   The thirteenth question was resumed.
   The character passed of John S. W. Dean, Presiding Elder of the Nebraska City District, and he read his report.

   Reporting Educational Offerings. On motion of L. C. Lemon the amounts raised last year on the conditional subscription of $50,000 to the Nebraska Wesleyan University, but not reported then, were ordered reported this year with the public educational offering.

   Time Extended. On motion of A. C. Crosthwaite, time was extended.

   Introductions and Addresses. The Rev. W. D. Parr, D. D., of Philadelphia, was introduced and addressed the Conference concerning

   Church Extension work. The Rev. David Marquette, of the North Nebraska Conference, was introduced and addressed the Conference concerning the State Methodist Historical Society. On motion of L. C. Lemon, John

Gallagher, H. T. Davis and Hiram Burch were appointed a committee to care for the interest of this Conference in such work.

   Dividends. The Bishop announced dividends to the Conference of $500 from the Book Concern and $22 from the Chartered Fund, and the drafts were ordered.

   Apportionments. The Bishop announced that the apportionment to this Conference for the Episcopal fund was $1,408, and for General Conference expenses $1,350. On motion of O. W. Fifer, these apportionments were referred to the Presiding Elders for distribution among the charges.

   Program. On motion of J. R. Gettys, the published program was made the order of services for the Conference.

   Excused. On motion of J. S. W. Dean, D. B. Lake was excused from further attendance upon the Conference sessions.

   Adjournment. The committees were called, the notices were read and Bishop Fowler pronounced the benediction.

AFTERNOON SESSION.

   Opening. The Conference met at 2 P. M., W. B. Alexander presiding. L. C. Lemon conducted the devotional services.

   Conference Minutes. The secretary presented bids for publishing the minutes. On motion of E. D. Gideon, the secretary was instructed to accept the bid and enter into contract with the Fremont Tribune.

   Address. W. E. Grose, of the Book Concern, was introduced and addressed the Conference.

   Subscriptions. The secretary called the roll and received cash subscriptions for publishing the Conference Minutes.

   Statistics. The secretary called the roll of charges and the statistical *reports were received.

   Adjournment. Announcements were made and A. G. Forman pronounced the benediction.

SECOND DAY.

Thursday, September 18th, 1902.

   Opening. The Conference met at 8:30 a. m. The Reverend Henry Ostrom conducted the devotional services.

   Journal. The Journal of the sessions on Wednesday was read and approved.

   Report of Committee. The committee of Inquiry in the case of P. H. Smith submitted the following report and on motion of W. B. Alexander, it was adopted. (See Reports.)

   XIII Question. The thirteenth question was resumed. The character passed of the following effective Elders on the Nebraska City district and those present and in charge reported: Duke Slavens, A.    Changes of Relation. On motion of J. S. W. Dean, H. G. Claycomb was granted the supernumerary relation, D. S. Davis was granted the superannuated relation, and his case referred to the committee on Conference Claimants.

   Change in Committee. On motion of J. F. Kemper, F. L. Wharton was substituted for C. B. Lenfest on the committee on Conference Relations.

   Candidates for Admission. On motion of T. H. Worley the candidates for admission into the Conference were referred to the committee on Conference Relations.

   V Question. The fifth question of the general minutes was taken up: "Who have been continued on trial?"
   The character passed of Irvin C. Lemon, Edward M. Furman, Eugene Maxey, Howard P. Young, and they reported. They were represented by their Presiding Elders and the Board of Examiners, continued on trial and advanced to the studies of the second year.
   The character passed of Lawrence Yost. He was represented by his Presiding Elder and the Board of Examiners and continued on trial and advanced to the studies of the second year, subject to the requirements of the Board of Examiners.
   The character passed of Eugene F. Gates and he reported. He was represented by the Board of Examiners and given credit for studies completed.

   IX Question. The ninth question of the general minutes was taken up: "What members are in studies of the fourth year?"
   The character passed of Marvin E. Gilbert and George Wash and they reported. They were represented by their Presiding Elders and the Board of Examiners and advanced to the studies of the fourth year subject to the requirements of the Board of Examiners.
   The character passed of Charles E. Ruch, George W. Ayers, and Henry Zinnecker and they reported. They were represented by their Presiding

Elders and the Board of Examiners and advanced to the studies of the fourth year.

   Transfer. The Bishop announced the transfer of J. A. Branson, a Deacon in the studies of third year, from the Des Moines to this Conference. His character passed and he reported. He was represented by his Presiding Elder and the Board of Examiners and continued in the studies of the third year.

   X Question. The tenth question of the general minutes was taken up: "What members have completed the Conference course of study?"
   The character passed of Ira W. Kenagy, Samuel T. Walker, George C. Cobb and they reported. They were represented by their Presiding Elders and the Board of Examiners and elected to Elder's orders. The character passed of Herbert V. Price, Henry F. Smith, James A. Rousey, and they reported. They were represented by their Presiding Elders and the Board of Examiners and continued in the studies of the fourth year, with credit for work completed.

   Green W. Selby. The character passed of Green W. Selby. On motion of Asa Sleeth, his name was ordered omitted from the class in the studies of the fourth year.

   Left Without Appointment. On motion of J. S. W. Dean, the Bishop was requested to leave Henry F. Smith without appointment to attend some one of our schools.

   Certificates. On motion of T. H. Worley, as amended, the certificates for candidates completing the Conference course of study were ordered presented privately.

   Special Order. On motion of O. T. Moore, the admission of candidates into full membership was made special order for Friday at 10 A. M.

   Assistant Treasurer. On motion of A. C. Crosthwaite, L. F. Smith was named as an additional assistant treasurer.

   Extra Missionary Money. On motion of W. B. Alexander, the treasurer was instructed not to include special gifts in total missionary offerings, unless satisfactory evidence was presented that the full apportionments had been raised.

   XI Question. The eleventh question of the general minutes was taken up: "What others have been elected and ordained Deacons?"
   The recommendation of Thomas C. Priestley, from the Bladen Quarterly Conference, Hastings district, was presented. He was represented by his Presiding Elder and the Board of Examiners. On motion of Richard Pearson he was elected to Deacon's orders. The recommendation of Walter H. Clark, from the Steele City Quarterly Conference, Beatrice district, was presented, and on motion of T. H. Worley his case was referred to the Board of Examiners.

   XXI Question. The twenty-first question of the general minutes was taken up: "What other personal notation should be made?"

terly Conference, Nebraska City district, an Elder in the Evangelical Church, was presented. On motion of J. S. W. Dean, his credentials were recognized as a local Elder, subject to his appearing before the Conference and answering the disciplinary questions.

   Delinquent Charges. The statistical secretary called the roll of charges delinquent in statistical reports. On motion of T. H. Worley, the statistical secretary was ordered to fill in the blanks from last year's reports of all charges not reported by 6 P. M. to-day.

   XXX Question. The thirtieth question of the general minutes was taken up: "Where shall the next Conference be held?"
   F. L. Wharton extended an invitation from St. Paul church, Lincoln, and by a rising vote the Conference accepted the invitation.

   Message of Condolence. The death of Mrs. J. M. Thoburn was announced, and on motion of T. H. Worley, the secretary was instructed to send a message of condolence to Bishop Thoburn.

   Absentees. The secretary called the roll of absentees, and thirty-two members and probationers responded to their names. (See names marked on roll.)

   XXII Question. The twenty-second question of the general minutes was taken up: "Who are the supernumerary preachers?"
   The character passed of A. P. Hull, J. G. Walker, C. W. Wells, Francis Deal, H. B. Seymour, A. W. Coffman, and they were continued in the supernumerary relation. Those present reported.

   XXIII Question. The twenty-third question of the general minutes was taken up: "Who are the superannuated preachers?"
   The character passed of A. L. Folden, G. W. Selby, William Cowley, C. L. Smith, N. H. Davis, A. P. Jones, Hiram Curtiss, O. P. Sheldon, Hiram Burch, C. G. Lathrop, Jeptha Marsh, Harrison Presson, Charles Reilly, L. W. Smith, J. W. Taylor, G. A. Smith, J. W. Warfield, Enoch Holland, J. A. Chapin, Lorenzo Jean, D. C. Brannon, Alvin Madole, James Williams, R. G. Adams, J. S. Orr, Moses Anderson, J. H. Beery, G. H. Moulton, H. T. Davis, E. W. McMillen, G. A. Hobson. Those present addressed the Conference, and after the address of G. A. Hobson the Conference joined in singing, "Am I a Soldier of the Cross."

   Introduction and Address. The Rev. Homer C. Stuntz D. D., was introduced and addressed the Conference concerning missions.

   Return of Credentials. On motion of O. W. Fifer, the credentials of C. H. Gilmore were ordered returned to him when properly endorsed.

   Introduction and Address. The Rev. A. P. George was introduced and addressed the Conference concerning the work of the Sunday School Union and Tract societies.

   Time Extended. On motion of J. W. Royse, time was extended.

   Change of Relation. On motion of Richard Pearson, R. A. Barnes was granted the supernumerary relation.

   Secretary's Report. The secretary filed his report for last year, and it was referred to the Auditing committee.

   Adjournment. The committees were called, the announcements were made and H. C. Stuntz pronounced the benediction.

THIRD DAY.

Friday, September 19, 1902.

   Opening. The Conference met at 8:30 A. M., the Rev. Henry Ostrom conducting the devotional services.

   Journal. The Journal of the session on Thursday was read, corrected and approved.

   IV Question. The fourth question of the general minutes was taken up: "Who have been received on trial?" Recommendations were read as follows: Ernest A. Totten from the Liberty Quarterly Conference, Bernard N. Kunkel from the Prosser Quarterly Conference, John R. Martin from the University Place Quarterly Conference, and Fulton C. McVay from the York district Conference. These candidates were introduced to the Conference, represented by their Presiding Elders, the Board of Examiners, the committee on Conference Relations, and admitted on trial. Their disciplinary pledges and answers were filed with the secretary.

   Reports. The reports of the committees on Woman's Foreign Missionary Society and Periodicals were read and adopted.

   Odd Cents. On motion of O. W. Fifer, the odd cents remaining in the treasurer's hands from last year were added to the minute fund.

   Conference Relations. The committee on Conference Relations reported favorably in the case of W. W. McGwire. His character passed and on motion of J. S. W. Dean, he was granted the supernumerary relation.

   Memoirs. On motion of J. W. Stewart, Hiram Burch was added to the committee on Memoirs.

   Report and Address. The report of the committee on the Omaha Hospital and Deaconess Home was read and adopted. The Rev. J. L. McLaughlin of Omaha, representing the institution, was introduced and addressed the Conference.

   Decision of Law. P. C. Johnson asked for a decision of law by the chair upon the question whether a former widow, once a Conference claimant, but now the divorced wife of a man not a member of this Conference, could be placed upon the list of Conference claimants. The Bishop decided that it was not within the power of the Conference to make her a Conference claimant.

   Order of the Day. The special order of the day was taken up and the seventh question of the general minutes called: "Who have been admitted into full membership?" The class for admission was called

forward and the Bishop addressed them. The character passed of Eugene F. Gates, Charles D. Metcalf, Dorah W. Wilt, William W. Hull, Oscar L. Burres and they reported. They gave satisfactory answers to the disciplinary questions, were represented by their Presiding Elders and the Board of Examiners, admitted into full membership and advanced to the studies of the third year. Charles D. Metcalf, Oscar L. Burres, Dorah W. Wilt, and William W. Hull were elected to Deacon's orders.

   Time Extended. By request time was extended. The character passed of William H. Shoaf, Albert S. Bull, Herbert E. Covell and those present reported. They were represented by their Presiding Elders and the Board of Examiners and continued in the studies of the second year with credit for studies completed. The character passed of William T. Taylor and he reported. He was represented by his Presiding Elder and the Board of Examiners, continued on trial and advanced to the studies of the third year.

   Left Without Appointment. On motion of J. R. Gettys, the Bishop was requested to leave H. E. Covell without appointment to attend some one of our schools.

   Missionary Rule. On motion of J. F. Kemper Albert S. Bull was elected to Deacon's orders under the missionary rule.

   II Question. The second question of the general minutes was resumed. "Who have been readmitted?" John M. Wilson, a local Elder, recommended by the York district Conference, with credentials recognized by the Colorado Conference in 1899, was introduced, and on motion of G. I. Wright was admitted into full membership and placed on the roll of effective Elders.

   Introduction and Address. The Rev. H. C. Jennings D. D. of the Book Concern was introduced and addressed the Conference.

   Adjournment. The committee meetings were announced and H. C. Jennings pronounced the benediction.

FOURTH DAY.

SATURDAY, September 20, 1902.

   Opening. The Conference met at 8:30 A. M., the Rev. Henry Ostrom conducting the devotional exercises.

   Journal. The Journal of the session on Friday was read, corrected and approved.

   Steward's Report. P. C. Johnson read the report of the committee on Conference Claimants, and it was adopted. (See Reports).

   Book Accounts. On motion of G. I. Wright, the committee on Conference Claimants was given discretionary power in the matter of payments from claimants' funds upon delinquent book accounts.

Payments. On motion of T. H. Worley, amounts not called for by Conference claimants were ordered sent by mail by the chairman of the committee.

   State Historical Committee. The report of the committee on State Methodist Historical Society was read and adopted. (See Reports)

   Conference Claimants. The report of the committee on Plans for Increasing Funds for Conference Claimants was read by P. C. Johnson and adopted. (See Reports.)

   W. H. Clark. The Board of Examiners reported in the case of Walter H. Clark, recommending that he be passed in the course of study for Deacon's orders. He was represented by his Presiding Elder and elected to Deacon's orders.

   State Historical Society. On motion of John Gallagher, the members of the committee on State Methodist Historical Society were made the officers of the Conference Historical Society. (See Boards and Committees).

   Location. On motion of J. F. Kemper, F. A. Stuff was granted a location at his own request.

   Change of Relation. On motion of J. F. Kemper, J. G. Day was given the supernumerary relation.

   Reports. The reports of the following committees were read and adopted: Sunday Schools, Local Preachers and Post-offices, Episcopal Fund, Tracts, Church Extension, District Conference Records, Church Insurance, Freedmen's Aid and Southern Education, Woman's Home Missionary Society, Auditing, Bible Cause, Temperance, State of the Church, Education, Resolutions. (See Reports). The report of the committee on Resolutions was adopted by a rising vote.

   Address. The Rev. D. W. C. Huntington, D. D., Chancellor of Nebraska Wesleyan University, was introduced and addressed the Conference.

   Address. W. E. Grose addressed the Conference.

   Statistical Reports. The statistical secretary and the treasurer read their reports by grand totals, and they were adopted. (See Statistics.)

   Standing Committees. The following resolution concerning nomination of Standing committees was adopted. (See Resolutions).

   Visitor's Report. On motion of T. H. Worley, the report of the Conference visitor to Garrett Biblical Institute was read and ordered printed in the minutes.

   Anti-Saloon League Delegates. On motion J. T. Roberts, C. M. Shepherd and E. M. Evans were elected delegates to the National Anti-Saloon League convention, and J. W. Swan as the Nebraska Conference member in the Board of Directors.

   Church Federation. On motion of J. F. Kemper, the Conference agreed to elect four delegates to the state convention on Church Federation, with instructions not to take any final action, but to report all matters to this Conference for decision.
   On motion of E. D. Gideon, the Presiding Elders and Bishop requested to appoint these delegates.

   Editing Reports. On motion of J. R. Gettys, the secretary was authorized to edit reports for publication in Conference minutes.

   Left Without Appointment. On motion of J. F. Kemper, the Bishop was requested to leave J. R. Martin without appointment to attend some one of our schools.

   Change of Relation. On motion of J. S. W. Dean, George Shuman was granted the supernumerary relation.

   G. W. Martin. On motion of J. F. Kemper, the Bishop was requested to appoint G. W. Martin moral instructor in the state penitentiary.

   Conference Evangelists. On motion of J. F. Kemper, by unanimous vote the Bishop was requested to appoint F. A. Campbell and W. H. Prescott Conference evangelists.

   Introductions. The Rev. N. M. Enyeart, of the Oklahoma Conference, the Rev. W. T. Allison, of the Northwest Kansas Conference, and the Rev. Jordan B. Chavis, president of Bennett College, N. C., were introduced to the Conference, and the last named addressed the Conference.

   Collection. On motion of A. C. Crosthwaite, collection was ordered taken Sunday night for the janitor.

   Memorial Services. On motion of J. W. Stewart, the memorial services were ordered held Sunday afternoon immediately after the ordination services.

   Executive Session. On motion of J. R. Gettys, as amended, the Conference agreed to meet in executive session at 5 P. M. admitting members of this Conference, and visitors from other Conferences.

   Adjournment. It was announced that the appointments would be read Sunday evening. The announcements for services were made and Bishop Fowler pronounced the benediction.

AFTERNOON SESSION.

   The Conference met at 5 P. M. in executive session. The Journal of the morning session was read, corrected and approved.

   Conference Evangelist. On motion of G. I. Wright, by unanimous vote the Bishop was requested to appoint W. K. Williams Conference Evangelist.

   Nominations. J. R. Gettys read the following list of nominations and appointments for boards, sermons and committees and they were confirmed. (See Boards and Committees.)

   Official Record. On motion of W. B. Alexander, the printed copies of the minutes were made the official record of the Conference.

Introduction. The Rev. W. F. McDowell, secretary of the Board of Education, was introduced.

   Adjournment. On motion of J. S. W. Dean, the Conference agreed,

after the reading of the Journal and the reading of the appointments, to adjourn sine die Sunday evening. The Journal was read and approved. W. F. McDowell pronounced the benediction.

FIFTH DAY.

Sunday, September 21st, 1902.

   Morning Prayer Meeting. A prayer meeting at 6:30 A. M. was led by the Rev. Henry Ostrom.

   Love Feast. The Conference love feast at 9:30 A. M. was led by Henry T. Davis.

   Sermon. At 10:30 A. M., Bishop Fowler preached upon "The Exaltation of Christ," choosing his text from Phil. 2: 9.

   Ordination Services. At 2:30 P. M., the ordination services were held. The Bishop ordained as Deacons William W. Hull, Dorah W. Wilt, Charles D. Metcalf, Oscar L. Burres, Walter H. Clark, Thomas C. Priestley, and assisted by the Presiding Elders, he ordained as Elders Ira W. Kenagy, George C. Cobb, Samuel T. Walker. The following is the certificate of ordination:

   This certifies that on the twenty-first day of September, A. D. 1902, I ordained William W. Hull, Dorah W. Wilt, Charles D. Metcalf, Oscar L. Burres, Thomas C. Priestley, and Walter H. Clark, Deacons; and assisted by Elders I ordained at the same time and place, George C. Cobb, Ira W. Kenagy, Samuel T. Walker, Elders. Done at Wymore, Nebraska.

   Memorial Services. The memorial services were held, J, W. Stewart presiding. The hymn, "I Would Not Live Alway," was sung, after which J. H. Presson read the reports of the committee on Memoirs. The memoir of Jesse L. Fort was followed by short addresses by H. T. Davis and A. V. Wilson. The memoir of G. B. Crippen was followed by addresses by John Gallagher and C. A. Hale. The hymn "Sweet By-and-By" was sung. The memoir of Mrs. David Hart was followed by an address by H. T. Davis. The memoir of Mrs. J. W. Taylor was followed by addresses by A. C. Crosthwaite, J. R. Woodcock and O. T. Moore. The memoir of Mrs. A. Brigham was followed by an address by Wm. Worley. The services concluded with the singing of the hymn, "0 How Sweet It Will Be In That Beautiful Land."

   Evening Services. The Epworth League meeting was led by O. W.

Fifer. The Rev. C. B. Spencer, D. D., editor of the Central Advocate, spoke briefly concerning that paper. The Rev. W. F. McDowell D. D., secretary of the Board of Education, preached from the text, "A Sower Went Forth to Sow."

   Collection. A collection was taken for the janitor of the church.

   Adjournment. Bishop Fowler addressed the Conference. He announced the appointments of the Presiding Elders, and by his request the secretary read the appointments of the preachers. The doxology was sung, the benediction pronounced by the Bishop and according to resolution the Conference adjourned sine die.
