Daniel2 Sexton (George1) married, December 28, 1680, Sarah Bancroft, born December 26, 1661, daughter of John Bancroft.(j) By 1685 he was living on Long Island, probably at Hempstead.(k) On September 27, 1698, he witnessed a deed at Jamaica, signing with his mark.(k) He is said to have died in 1710. The list of children is probably incomplete. Descendants used the name Saxton, some removing to New Jersey and others to Ulster County, New York.

  P. 4. 2c. Joseph2 Sexton (George1) was born February 3, 1666, probably at Windsor, Connecticut.(n) He married, November 20, 1690, Hannah Wright, born July 28, 1669, d. Nov. 26, 1742, at Enfield, Conn., daughter of Abel Wright of Springfield, Massachusetts. He settled in that part of Springfield, then known as Endfield (now Enfield and Somers, Connecticut), where his name and that of his son Joseph are found as witnesses to a deed in 1715 from Daniel Miller to Thomas Jones. Hannah's mother was scalped by the Indians, July 26, 1708, but she lived until October 19 of that year. Joseph Sexton was captain of the militia at Enfield. He died at Enfield, May 3, 1742, aged 76 years, and his widow Hannah died the twenty-sixth of the next November, aged 73.(p) Descendants are usually called Saxton.

  P. 4. 2d. Benjamin2 Sexton (George1) was born at Westfield, Massachusetts, December 10, 1667, and died there April 8, 1754.(q) He married, July 3, 1717, Mrs. Mary (Strong) Pixley, widow of Ebenezer Pixley and daughter of Jedediah Strong. She died April 17, 1759. The old homestead, near Westfield, was known as "Little River," and as it was strongly built, it was used In early times as a fort and as a refuge from the Indians. Descendants were called Saxton and some remained in the vicinity of Westfield for 200 years.

He married, September 10, 1818, at Wells, Vermont, Faith Cone, daughter of Enoch and Elizabeth (Cook) Cone, born January 28, 1801. They lived for a short time at Perry, Wyoming County, New York, where their oldest child was born and about 1820 they settled at Ellington, Chautauqua County, where their other children were born.

  P. 23. Bessie N., daughter of John Sylvester7 Saxton, received a college education and taught in various cities In Michigan, Ohio, and the State of Washington.(f) She died of influenza during the epidemic of 1920.

  P. 23. Clara E., daughter of John Sylvester7 Saxton, married, Feb. 26, 1907, Joseph J. Bachmeyer.(f) They live at Blissfield, Mich. Children (surname Bachmeyer): 1. Ellen, b.
