BOOK REVIEWS

Genealogical History of the Felton Family. By William Reid Felton, Sioux City, Ia., published by The Tuttle Company, Rutland, Vt., 1935. 378 pp. + appendices, 19 pp. + index, 58 pp. Illustrated.

This volume traces the descendants of Nathaniel Felton of Salem, Massachusetts, bringing down several lines to the eleventh generation. Attention is given to the families of some of the daughters, especially those who married into the Endicott, Foster, Howe, Proctor and Putnam families. The author used the "Felton Family" (1886) by Cyrus Felton, of Marlboro, Massachusetts, as the foundation for his book. This was supplemented in part by a voluminous correspondence and visits to localities where the Feltons were numerous.

Ancestry of Sharpless Moore and Rachel (Roberts) Moore. By Blanche (Moore) Haines, Three Rivers, Mich., 1937. 194 pp. and index + ancestral chart. Illustrated.

The paternal line is descended from Andrew1 Moore, who settled in Chester County, Pennsylvania, in 1723. The other thirty-five immigrant ancestors were largely Pennsylvania Quakers. Those who have not been written up here-to-fore are William1 Beal (before 1714), Bucks Co., Penn.; Robert1 Sanders (before 1704), Bucks Co., Penn.; David1 Kinsey (1682), Philadelphia, Penn.; William1 Crews (about 1685), Burlington Co., N. J.; Thomas1 Curtis (before 1682), Burlington Co., N. J.; Samuel1 Ogborn (before 1694), Burlington Co., N. J. Information on Pennsylvania families is often difficult to obtain and this volume contains much not easily accessible elsewhere. We regret that the index is incomplete.
