  (a) Isaac J. Thomas moved to the vicinity of Springview, Nebr., about 1886. where he died in April, 1904. His wife died in June, 1901. - Nebraska City News, 1901, June 25; 1904, April 19.
  (b) W. H. H. Waters came to Nebraska City in 1858 or 1859, where be married Miss Lizzie North. He edited the Nebraska City Press during the Civil War and became receiver of the land office in 1861. Later he founded the Nebraska City Chronicle. He moved to Salem, Ore., where he edited the Statesman two or three years and practiced law. He died there Sept. 7, 1892. - Syracuse (Neb.) Journal, 1892, Sept. 16.
  (c) Joseph E. Lamaster was born at Canton, Ill., June 1, 1830. He married 1859, Lewiston, Ill., Miss Kate Rice and moved to Nebraska City the same year. For several years he was publisher of the Nebraska City Press and in 1867 was appointed internal revenue collector. He also served as state senator. He later lived on a farm near Tecumseh and in Lincoln - Nebraska City News, 1902, Nov. 7.

  (i) Thomas Thomas, b. July 11, 1830, Champaign Co., 0., was the son of Daniel and Elizabeth (Traverse) Thomas. He married, June, 1851, at Toledo, 0., Louisa, daughter of William Newhouse, a native of Switzerland. They settled in Otoe Co. in 1858. - Chapman, p. 230.   (j) George Washington Sroat, b. about 1830, Jefferson Co., Ky., was the son of Peter, Jr., and Elizabeth (Conn) Sroat. He settled at Nebraska City in Sept., 1855, and there married, Oct. 21, 1860, Georgenia, daughter of George North. He was sheriff of Otoe Co., 1860-5, and was also a member of the territorial legislature. - Eva Madsen Sroat, Sroat Genealogy.
  (k) Dr. J. W. Parker died at Westport, Mo., Mar., 1907, aged 85 years. He was a pioneer doctor in that part of the country, especially among the Indians. He moved to Nebraska City in 1864, returning to Westport a few years later. - Nebraska City News. 1907, Mar. 5.
  (1) J. W. Pittman, son of David and Catherine (Eddleman) Pittman, was born Mar. 25, 1834, Harrison Co., Ind. He married in Marion Co., Ia., Lydia A., daughter of Samuel and Susan (Beauge) Goodwin and came to Cass Co., Nebr., in 1859. Soon afterward he moved to Nebraska City and engaged in freighting, returning to Cass Co. in 1867. - Chapman, pp. 930, 960.

  (m) Charles Wesley Sherfey, born July 6, 1829, graduated from De Pauw University in 1854 and later from Harvard Law College. In 1856 he established the Platte Valley Times at Plattsmouth, which he published about one year. He moved to Nebraska City and in 1858 established the People's Press. He soon sold out and opened a private school. In 1879 Mr. Sherfey quit teaching and opened a greenhouse, which became one of the best in the state. He married, 1862, Miss Irene, daughter of Wesley and Mary A. Spurlock. - Nebraska City News, 1904, July 12.
  (n) Solomon Mumford Martin, born at Venango, Pa., married Jane Thompson, a native of the same Place, who died in Jefferson Co., Ind., aged 53 years. He served in the War of 1812. Of his seven children, Mary, b. Mar. 15, 1818, Venango, Co., Pa., married Charles H. Cowles. Another daughter, Margaret Jane, married. Nov. 20, 1855, Andrew Jessen. - Chapman, p. 625.
