  (b) John Cassel, b. Aug. 14, 1801, Newberry Dist.. S. C., moved with his parents to Ky. in 1805 and later to Warren Go., 0., where he married 1927 Sarah Thomas, a native of that county, daughter of Edward and Parmelia (Wright) Thomas. By 1834 he moved to Warren Co., Ind., and in 1856 to Otoe Co., Neb. In 1858 he was a member of the territorial legislature. He died in 1882. Job Cassel, a son, married 1865 Mary, daughter of Oliver and Luna (Norton) Harmon, a native of New Marlboro, Mass. - Portrait and Bioqraphical Album of Cass and Otoe Counties (Chapman Bros., Chicago, 1889). pp. 275, 1060.
