teacher. Later he moved to the city of Tekamah where for a number of years he has worked at his trade, that of carpenter and builder. Mr. Shaw takes much interest in public matters and has served in many public positions. During a portion of the term of H. W. Monroe, as sheriff, he served as deputy, and for many years has been justice of Peace and Police Judge in this city.
   Mr. Shaw has given to Odd Fellowship much of his time and stands high in the circles of that society in this state, and has been honored with the office of Grand Patriarch of the jurisdiction of Nebraska. In 1904 he was Grand Representative from Nebraska to the Sovereign Grand Lodge of the Encampment of the United States at San Francisco.
   Mr. Shaw was united in marriage September 28th, 1886, to Miss Elma F. Hall.

   ANDREW D. NESBIT was born October 13th, 1860, in Herrick, Bradford county, Pennsylvania. While a resident there he entered Jefferson Medical College, of Philadelphia, from which he graduated in the spring of 1887. December 9th, 1887, he came to Tekamah and entered upon the practice of his profession. Dr. Nesbit since becoming a resident of our city has been one of its foremost citizens. He has served as County Coroner, City Councilman and is now a member of the Board of Education. He has been City Physician at different limes and local surgeon for the C. St. P. M. & O. Ry. Co.
   Mr. Nesbit was united in marriage June 19th, 1890, to Marietta Homet, of Homet's Ferry, Pennsylvania.

   FRED RUEBEN WALBRIDGE was born October 18th, 1860, in Attica, New York. At the age of six years, April 17th, 1867, he came with his parents to Tekamah. Since residing in this city, which he has done continuously since coming here, he has followed farming as a livelihood. Upon the organization of Co, 11. N. N. G., in 1887, he took a prominent part and

was appointed Fifth Sergeant. He re-enlisted again under Captain C. F. Beck, and accompanied the company through the Indian troubles at Wounded Knee.
   Mr. Walbridge was united in marriage August 17th. 1800, to Miss Minnesota Kelly.

   CHARLES W. BREED was born August 5th, 1833, at Norwich, N. Y. From there he removed to Clinton, Illinois, and in 1860 to Tekamah, Nebraska, arriving here July 31st. and residing here continuously until his death January 7th, 1874. During the Colorado gold excitement Mr. Breed started for Pikes Peak but was taken sick at Fort Kearney and returned to his home in Illinois.
   Mr. Breed was united in marriage December 12th, 1861, to Miss Alice Colton.

   PETER G. MARR was born November 21st, 1840. in Toronto, Canada. At the age of one and one-half years he accompanied his parents to Iowa and later to Nebraska, arriving in Burt county in October, 1862, settling on the Arizona bottoms where he has resided continuously, following the occupation of farmer. He has been very successful and is now the owner of many acres of the fertile land which surrounds his early home in this county. For many years the people of his school district have retained him as their district treasurer.
   He was united in marriage to Caroline Babbitt, November 17th, 1871, and she passing from this life, he was again married October 16th, 1883, to Rosa Babbitt.

   NATHAN B. MOREHOUSE was born at Springfield, New Jersey. June 17th. 1813, and passed from this life Monday, January 4th, 1904. While he was quite young his parents removed to New York state and there he grew to manhood spending the greater portion of his life in Genesee and Erie counties, moving in 1866 to Kenosha, Wisconsin.
