Rowley Jepha DUNN

Rowley Jepha DUNN born 14 Sep 1862 at Hastings, Barry County, MI.
            Son  of Jepha Dunn (born 13 Jun 1833, NY) & Sarah A. Mittower (born 14 Dec 1927,  Seneca Co., NY.)
Married at Tiffin, OH – to
Chloe May DOUGHTY
born 19 May 1868 at Licking Co.,  OH
            Daughter  of Arthur Doughty (born 18 May 1840, Deer Island, New Brunswick, Canada) &  Charlotte Charles. Arthur had moved to USA in 1847, fought in Civil War.
 
Rowley & Chloe had 7 children:
1. Roy Herbert Dunn (born 1886 in Seneca Co., OH; married Grace Elfa Martin.  
    They had 7 ch: Fern, Dale, Delpha, Wilma (died age 4 yrs), Wayne, Marvin & Virginia)
2. Hazel Bessie Dunn (married Jess Buchholz)
3. Lottie May Dunn (married Otis Sailors)
4. Ethel Elizabeth Dunn (married Rollin Ankrom)
5. Ray Arthur Dunn (married Jeannette Carson)
6. Owa Fay Dunn (married Otis Ankrom) {12/30/12 correction, Thanks LInda}
7. Vinton J. Dunn (married Shirley Beatrice Palstring)
 
Rowley was a school teacher while they lived in Ohio. In 1890, they moved to a farm southeast of Falls City in Richardson County, NE. He farmed & owned a business.  They later moved to Iola, Kansas where Rowley farmed and was in real estate. Upon retirement, they moved to Auburn, NE.
 
Chloe died 28 May 1933.  Rowley died 8 Feb 1944. They are buried at Harris Cemetery, Barada, NE –  adjacent to Rowley’s parents.

Lottie May DUNN
 married Otis B. SAILORS. Lottie died of influenza in 1919. Otis Sailors died in 1922.  They left 4 children:
a. Edna Merle Sailors
b. Mildred Bernice Sailors
c. Norman Sailors
d. Maurice Adelbert Sailors (my father)
The children were raised by their grandparents (Rowley & Chloe Dunn) with assistance of their Aunt Hazel Dunn Buchholz & her husband Jess Buchholz (Child #2 above). Hazel & Jess had 2 daughters.

Vinton J. DUNN
born 23 Jun 1901 at Barada, NE
2 Feb 1922 – Married at Iola, Kansas to Shirley Beatrice PALSTRING.
They lived at Iola, KS until 1926, moved to Falls City, Richardson Co., NE
Vinton & Shirley had 5 children.
a.  Marian Noreen Dunn born Iola, KS
b. Virginia Jean Dunn born Iola, KS
c.  Robert James Dunn born Falls City, NE
d. Merlin Edward Dunn born Falls City, NE
e. Ronald Claire Dunn born Falls City, NE
1944: The family moved to Lincoln, NE.  Vinton Dunn died 20 May 1954.
