Alfred Perkins was born Aug. 26, 1846 in Greig, NY. Alfred married Emma J. Gaylord (born Aug. 25, 1852) in Greig, NY on Oct. 12, 1869. Alfred was in Co. "C", 186th New York Infantry during the Civil War. Alfred moved to Blue Springs, NE. in 1872. He was in the hardware business (Saunders & Perkins) and was a farmer. Children born in Blue Springs were Alice Cora (1873), Dora Augusta (1876), Eve LouElla (1878), Viola Ethel (1883), Emma Grace (1885), Flossie Generia (1887) and Allen E. (1890). Eva and Alice are buried in Blue Springs. Alfred was a member of Tyre Lodge No. 85, A.F.& A.M., Blue Springs.
