New London is
small town jewel in West Central New Hampshire. Nicely
situated midway between Concord New Hampshire's Capital on the South - Hanover home of Dartmouth college to the
North - &
Claremont to the West, New London can draw from the facilities in each
of these larger communities, yet still retain the small town atmosphere
it covets.
The
Gazebo in the middle of the Town Green is a symbol of that era long gone by,
when
Band Concerts and the Town green were the town's social
meeting place. But even today band concerts are still held on Friday
evenings.
New London
is also the home of Colby Sawyer college. The town, up until now, has avoided the urban sprawl of its neighbors. But New London
can no longer be termed an undiscovered treasure. In recent years housing
developments are altering the simple, laid back, life-style and country atmosphere, as more
and folks discover its
charm, beauty, and its natural assets.

From a genealogical viewpoint, New London anticipated its future
long ago, when it began planning, cataloging, and tabulating its
